Cap on the tooth can come out due to several reasons- any discrepancy during fixing, fitting of the cap is not proper, there can be bite forces which are not relieved, etc Kindly keep the cap safely and visit your dentist, it could be re fixed.

Prime reasons for early cap dislodgement: 1. Excess saliva contact with the cement during fixing 2. Discrepancy on chewing surface 3. Improper size and shape of cap leading to improper retention. There is a particular shape, dimensions(crown height) and tapering angles that need to be incorporated into the tooth on which the cap is being placed. Failing to do so leads to early cap dislodgement 4. Forceful gargling or chewing immediately after cap placement. It can be any of the above reasons. So better report to a dentist for clinical examination and appropriate treatment. Not a big problem though! Can be fixed on early reporting. Take care!

Hi there.. The cap would have come off either due to excessive saliva contact during placement or due to occlusal discrepancy. Visit your dentist and it can be refixed back.

Hello dear New caps fitted can come out due to in balance of the chewing methods. Nothing to worry go back to ur dentist he would really check how you chew and do some adjustments and remix it. Keep your cap securely so u don't loose it and don't waste time to see dentist.there can be changes in your bite if you are late and the same cap might not be able to be refixed if you delay. Take care
