Is root canal painful ? I am going to have to have root canal done next week ...I am really scared about the procedure as I saw various videos on youtube that dentist cover whole face why is it so 😭..is it so painful that dentist don't want to see us which instrument they use

Hello ,
Root canal treatment is not painful treatment & it is performed under local anesthesia.
If you have a pain phobia . You can take analgesic by asking your dentist prior to root canal procedure.
Instrument which you have seen in you tube video it might be rubber damm & it use to avoid saliva contamination during Root canal procedure .
Don't get scared just be clam while procedure .

Root canal treatment or RCT is one of the commonest dental procedures. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia so there is very little chance of pain.Also the video you saw about dentist covering face etc is misleading. I would not worry as it is a very routine procedure
