I am on a daily dose of 2 mg risperidone. Is there a risk of getting 'type 2 diabetes' with this dose?

Hello.. Risperidone is a type of newer antipsychotic which has metabolic side effects like weight gain , increased lipids, blood sugar etc Though has moderate risk not a high risk of these side effects The dose you taking is low so again chance are less If you would continue to do some physical excercise for at least 20 min per day Then I don't think you are at risk But yes every individual has different acceptance to side effects and effects
Next Steps
regular consultation with psychiatrist, weight monitoring, blood tests
Health Tips
don't increase or decrease doses on your own , keep clarifying your doubts with your treating psychiatrist
