Ribbon stool?
So since last 1 week I was having constipation, and when i stressed small pressed like stool came up, today and yesterday I didn't have constipation, stools are also normal but I see that the stools are ribbon like(i hope that is what doctors call the thin stools), I am very scared. Please guide me what to do. Should I observe it for few more days or go to the doctor immediately? I have active exercising routine, i drink enough water. Please help me if this is serious. I am too scared and anxious after seeing this. I have added some pictures. Please guide me. The anxiety is killing me already after seeing this :( There is no blood or pain. I am on no medication as well, yes facing gastritis though.

I completely understand your concern. To diagnose your problem completely, I would need more information as well as some general tests and a primary family history. Your routine and other habits will also need to be known, so for the treatment of this problem, once consultation can be done through phone or video call, it is better.

No need to be anxious I don't see any abnormlity here Yes you might be suffering from constipation and nothing more There is grading of constipation based on appearance of stool - it is known as "Bristol Stool Chart" And also dont strain while defecating, as straining repeatedly over a time, lead to damage to Anal Mucosa Initial steps to avoid/treat constipation is 1) Diet rich in Fibers - Green Leafy vegetables 2) Lots of water 3) Adequate Sleep 4) Avoid Stress - Mediation and Yoga would be beneficial 5) Exercise - Brisk walking atleast 30 minutes daily 6) If none of these are helping your constipation - Consult me on Practo by booking an appointment and I'll guide you with medications if required
Health Tips
Avoid Straining while defecation
