Hi,
My husband had a fall from a two wheeler a week back and hurt his rib..
Ortho prescribed a Diclofenac patch called nu patch for 5 days.. He has been using it for 3 days now.. But no respite.
Today we did an x ray and found there was no fracture..
He has mild heavy breathing while trying to lie down.. Otherwise breathing is normal.. But pain is not coming down.. Difficult to sit and stand also.. Pain is radiating to shoulder and back..

Greetings!
This seems like a Blunt injury chest.
It will be extremely painful as he does some exertion activity or Coughing.
Things to Do now,
Visit your nearest Physiotherapist and get chest strapping done using Dynaplast Bandage and Chest Bandaging using Crepe Bandage.
DICLO patch is not enough for him it seems, can escalate analgesic DOSE either orally or topical ointment.
Ask him not to lie on the injured side and avoid sternous activity.
Adding a AntiOedema measure will help in reduction of Hematoma in the chest wall.
Further,a Cough syrup will help him to sleep as well as avoid cough and it's related pain.
Thanks
