The symptoms are a warning sign. And getting diagnosed with a psychiatrist is best. If the thoughts are pertaining for longer period then it is not normal and you need to take immediate actions to control. Therapies and medications would work. If it is a clinical symptoms the Counselling can't work on long bases and that's where medications work.

without knowing the diagnosis it's hard. Try to understand the cause what has become lately to our emotions and behaviour and feelings... for this journalising would help but not sure whether the person can coordinate to do so. Start and end of the day try to do some Breathing and relaxation techniques. More details would be given after diagnosing, thus visiting a Psychiatrist is must Take care

Hi... You will require a proper psychiatric evaluation to be able to receive a diagnosis. It cannot be based on reading articles on internet or seeking query on any online platform. Coming to your question whether it is okay to feel this way. Yes, at times we all feel this way but that state of mind does not persists. If it does, than it has started falling in a category of one or the other form of disorder/illness. But that does not mean it cannot be treated. About the side effects of medication, I would just say that in our modern lifestyle we are consuming much more toxic chemicals without even thinking twice. But when it comes to taking psychiatric medications we become so very conscious. Alcohol, cigarettes, psychedelics, even excessive use caffeine does more harm than any medication for that matter. Poor lifestyle, poor routine, unhealthy diet, poor sleep, no physical activity/exercise, high screen time, and excessive use of electronic gadgets (laptop/smartphone/tablet/smart watch), media, social media, etc. is causing more harm to our mental and physical health than side effects of any medications. The problem is that people create notions about their treatment and do not continue with any clinician (psychiatrist/psychologists). These medications effect different brains differently. Only after a duration of time doctors are able to identify the exact combination of medications and dosages that a working well for a client. Also, medications and psychotherapy/counselling are not two mutually exclusive treatments but part of the same treatment process. You will need both to overcome your presenting issues and lead a healthy life. If you are not getting proper results in your treatment, change the professionals but do not drop the treatment. Take your time to find the right professionals for you but than stick to them and your treatment.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychiatrist for a medical diagnosis and medications. I know some good psychiatrists in Bangalore but not in Kolkata and I can share contacts. Consult a Psychologist for Psychotherapy/Counselling.
