My husband had a ankle surgery in 2009, had a plate and a few screws fit. We now need to get the implants removed (since he has swelling and pain). What would be the recovery time after the removal? Can he get back to work in 5-7 days?

Suture removal time is 2 weeks.
Bone slots need 2 weeks minimum to heal up.
So I would advise toe walking for 2 weeks post surgery. Then full.weight bearing subsequently.
He will need recovery time from surgery for 2 weeks. Even after that he will.need to be careful for 6-8 weeks after surgery. Usually metalwork doesn't need to be removed
