It is a good thought to get your filling replaced if it is damaged. I don't know why you mentioned getting it extracted. We try to save teeth by treating them. Extraction is the last option which is used and that too when the tooth damage is irreparable and no other treatment is working.
Extraction is always kept as the last resort when other treatment modalities cannot be applied. Please visit a dentist for a proper clinical evaluation of the case so that the old filling can be removed and new tooth coloured composite filling can be done.
