Hi there, its easy to get confused in this manner I the given situation. Feelings and emotions are never rational but the thoughts preceding such feelings can be trained to b rational. Trained rational thoughts will invoke logical emotions leading to logical behaviours. She needs to meet up someone like a psychiatrist who can help her get clarity of mind and think in a broader perspective. I hope this helps her but feel free to consult in case of any other queries. Take care.
