No. They don't harm your body in any way unless there is some chronic infection that is left behind.

Dental implants not only help to restore your missing teeth but they also act as scaffold for bone growth and development. You can compare this phenomenon to the concept of soil erosion wherein the roots of the trees help the soil to remain in place and maintain the level of earth crust and as soon as the trees are cut down we notice a dramatic loss in the levels of soil and soil erosion takes place. Likewise ,as soon as any tooth in the mouth is extracted the bone beneath that tooth starts resorbing at a very faster rate causing bone loss and deformity in the jaw . Whereas if we replace the missing teeth immediately,it definitely helps to maintain the bone level and prevents the bone loss. So in the long run as the body ages, replacing the teeth with the dental implants actually helps to maintain overall level and health of your jawbone. Apart from this, a dental implant is made up of high grade titanium with surface treatments over it so it has no side effects or adverse effects as such. Saying this ,every dental treatment comes with a maintenance part with it so you need to see your dentist after every 3 months for a routine check up to increase the life of the Implant placed.
Next Steps
fixing a tooth with a dental implant is a very routine procedure now and is anyday the best option over other conventional options. so definitely go ahead and get them done.
Health Tips
Do visit your dentist after every 3 months after the treatment. Do regularly check the blood sugar levels after the treatment. Use of a water flosser is kind of must and will help maintain the integrity of the Implant to bone.
