Regarding OCD
I have OCD and high anxiety, I am on Escitalopram 5 mg, Buspin 5 mg twice, there is irresistible sleepiness and bad nightmares throughout the sleep, it seems like narcolepsy, will clomipramine help in this case, instead of Buspin 10 mg/day?

First..if you have OCD, then you are not taking any medicine which can treat OCD, if we consider Escitalopram for OCD treatment, 5mg dose is nothing. Buspirone may settle your anxiety but again its not going to treat OCD. Yes Clomipramine is good medication for OCD but it has it's own side effects, so we usually add this medicine when other first line treatment/medications are not working
Next Steps
Ask your doctor to start proper management OCD i.e CBT and medicines
Health Tips
Don't use any medicine without expert advice

I would advise you to not switch medicines on your own. If you are having doubts about your current treatment, kindly discuss the same with your treating doctor.

Hi there, A detailed medical, psychological history and mental status examination is required to come for a diagnosis. But some advice can still be given. Most of the time , SSRIs and Clomipramine (clonil ) types of drugs given for OCD in addition to the psychological interventions like CBT.Drugs like clonils act as anti obsessive properties but do have other side effects profiles. From SSRIs, Generally Sertraline is preferred amongst the SSRIs. Anxiolytics from Benzodiazepines or Buspirone are preferred. Generally such side -effects are not seen with the medications you described.
Next Steps
You can discuss your issues with your treating mental health professional regarding the problems you are describing. And other medications can be try for your problems.
Health Tips
Don’t take drugs by yourself and take them under the care of a mental health professional.
