If your operated ear is doing fine… then you can go for Tympanoplasty for another ear Get done pure time Audiometry and routine blood investigations before proceeding for surgery!! You can have cold food… but problem arise when you get sore throat or catch cold / cough after that… which increase the chances of ear discharge in perforated ear!! Better to avoid… but once in a while you can have !!

Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT. Eating cold items does not directly affect ear perforation or tympanoplasty outcome. However, if you experience symptoms like increased ear blockage, pain, or nasal congestion after consuming cold foods, it’s best to limit them. These may indirectly affect middle ear pressure via the Eustachian tube.
