Red Patches on Abdominal Areas, back & c
Dear Doctor, My son is 9 years old and has had red patches on his abdominal area and back/chest for the past 6 days. I consulted a pediatrician, who prescribed calamine lotion and fexofenadine syrup. However, there has been no improvement in the affected areas. For your reference, I have attached a photo of the patches. Could you please advise what steps I should take next? Should I consult a pediatrician again or see a dermatologist? What could be the possible cause of this condition? Are there any specific precautions I should follow? How long does it usually take to treat this type of skin issue? Is it something serious? Kindly guide me.
