Firstly measure the temperature with a digital thermometer in axilla and if the temp is more than 100 f or 38.5 C then and then only give medication as per weight.
Just the body being warm is not an indication to give medication
Also with medication you have to do aggressive tepid sponging with Luke warm water
Get consultation done and then get done blood reports...If possible visit nearby pediatrician...if you are not able to do so then get video consultation done
Fever occurs due to infection. So there's no need to cure fever as such, you have to tackle the infection.
Firstly measure temp. If temp> 100, then only fever is diagnosed. First try tepid sponging to bring fever down. If fever still rises after 30 mins, then can give PCM. If fever rises to >102, then can use syrup ibuprofen (100/5)- 5 ml SOS. However give ibuprofen only upto 2-3 times a day, not more. PCM also not more than 4-5 times a day. All these medications affects kidney. So be aware.
Next Steps
for fever- ibuprofen
for dry cough- syrup ascoril D- 3 ml thrice a day.
Health Tips
I have written treatment for fever and dry cough. however, if child has recurring fever, then there is serious risk of infection and proper consultation with pediatrician is required. please don't ignore
