Fever not going down after giving crocin
My daughter has been suffering from fever since today morning. I gave her crocin 120 - 8 ml at 8pm. However fever did not go down at all. Instead after 3 hrs i.e 11.30pm fever increased to 104.1 degree. I then gave her meftal p - 2.5ml at 12.30 am. But the fever has still not gone down even after 1hr. Can someone plz suggest if i need to give higher dosage of crocin/meftal or suggest alternate medication.

Most fevers in children are viral in origin and take 3-7 days to subside completely. Use syp combiflam 5 ml instead of crocin, may be repeated after every 4 hours. Reserve meftal only for fevers above 103 OR not responding to combiflam, and repeat ONLY after 6 hours. Bathing or sponging will help. If not improving OR accompanied by other symptoms like vomiting or loose motions or coughing and breathlessness or dullness and refusal to feed, consult your paediatrician for physical examination and treatment.
