This appears to be an irritant/contact dermatitis due to vibhuti (ash). The burning sensation and redness suggest acute skin irritation rather than infection. Next Steps (What should the patient do next?): • Gently wash the area with plain water or mild cleanser (no rubbing) • Apply a soothing lotion like calamine 2–3 times daily • Use a bland moisturizer (ceramide-based) to repair skin barrier • If burning/redness is significant, a mild steroid cream for 2–3 days can help • Avoid applying vibhuti or any other products on the area Helpful Tips / Word of Caution: • Do not scratch or rub the area • Avoid sun exposure; use sunscreen once irritation reduces • Keep the skin simple—no actives or home remedies • Should improve within 3–5 days You can consult with me online via practo for detailed evaluation and treatment.
