Random bruise without any reason
I had a random bruise without any obvious reason that first appeared red and then turned purplish and was tender to touch, it healed within 7 days. Is it possible that I have any underlying issue?

Hi, The change in color of the bruise is normal The fact that you had only without a reason isn't. It's possible that you had a small injury at work/gym or when you were focussing on something else and probably missed noticing it Hopefully it's just that Don't worry about it. If you notice this happening again, get the following tests done Platelet count PT,APTT PERIPHERAL SMEAR BLEEDING AND CLOTTING TIME

Bruises can be due to many causes like liver disease, vit deficiency, aging, some genetic disorders, leukemia and many more. So its better to observe patterns of type and cause. And get ur blood work up done after consulting a doctor form that particular specialist. It can be as simple as truma to life threatening like leukemias. So if it does bothering u that much better consult and get your mind free.

Bruise: Underlying Cause and Treatment A bruise, also known as a contusion, occurs when blood vessels are damaged, causing blood to leak into the surrounding tissue. Here's what you need to know: Underlying Causes 1. *Trauma*: A blow to the skin or underlying tissues can cause bruising. 2. *Injury*: Sports injuries, accidents, or falls can lead to bruising. 3. *Medical conditions*: Certain conditions, such as bleeding disorders or vitamin deficiencies, can increase the risk of bruising. 4. *Medications*: Some medications, such as anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents, can increase the risk of bruising. Symptoms 1. *Discoloration*: The affected area may appear blue, purple, or black due to blood accumulation. 2. *Swelling*: The area may become swollen or tender to the touch. 3. *Pain*: Bruises can be painful, especially when touched or moved. Treatment 1. *Rest*: Give the affected area a break and avoid activities that may exacerbate the injury. 2. *Ice*: Apply ice packs to reduce swelling and pain. 3. *Compression*: Use compression bandages or wraps to help reduce swelling. 4. *Elevation*: Elevate the affected area above the level of the heart to reduce swelling. When to Seek Medical Attention 1. *Severe pain*: Pain that worsens over time or is not manageable with over-the-counter pain medication. 2. *Increasing swelling*: Swelling that worsens over time or is accompanied by other symptoms. 3. *Difficulty moving*: Difficulty moving the affected area or loss of function. 4. *Signs of infection*: Redness, warmth, or pus around the bruise.

A single bruise that healed within 7 days and had no other symptoms is usually not a problem Could be due to Minor unnoticed trauma ,fragile blood vessels, Nutritional deficiency (e.g., vitamin C or K)

That’s how a bruise resolves. It changes color over time as it heals. This is a normal process. You needn’t worry about it. It is a problem only if this happens quite often. If that is the case then check your platelet count, PT INR and apTT.
