If you have taken only 3 doses before then you need to take 2 booster doses now on day 0 and on day 3.

You are safe. One complete schedule of anti rabies vaccine, provides protection for 1 to 2 years.

Thank you for sharing the details. If you received a full post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) course (which is usually 4-5 doses) after a dog bite in January–February, here's what you need to know: If You Previously Received Full PEP (at least 4-5 doses): You are considered protected for 1–3 years or more. No need for vaccination again for minor scratches if the dog is healthy, vaccinated, and under your observation. ⚠️ If You Received Only 3 Doses: That’s incomplete post-exposure protection. You should now take 2 booster doses: Day 0 (today) Day 3
Next Steps
What You Should Do Now: 1. Check how many total doses you had in January–February. 2. If it was only 3, visit a doctor and consider 2 booster doses now (Day 0 & Day 3). 3. Observe your dog closely for 10 days — if it remains healthy, risk is very low. 4. Keep documentation of all your doses for future reference.
Health Tips
Full PEP protection can last at least 1 year, often up to 3 years. If re-exposed within this time, just 2 booster doses are needed (no immunoglobulin required). For high-risk individuals, a 5-year booster may be advised.

Dear Practo User. Thanks for sending across your query. If you completed the full post-exposure rabies vaccine course in Jan–Feb, you're likely protected. For minor scratches now, no vaccine is needed unless deep or bleeding. Rabies protection lasts around 1–3 years; booster advised after high-risk exposure.
