Quitipin tapering
Respected Doctors, Attached are my Hb1ac and Lipid profile done on 8/6/2025.On nexito 10 and Quitipin 50 from 21/3/2025.Weight gain has happened but quitipin helped a lot in sleep.May i taper the dose to 25 mg now. Pls suggest. Regards

Why did you get a prescription for those medicines? Who prescribed it? Psychiatrist or non psychiatrist? You can taper & stop quetiapine after consultation with psychiatrist but better to change lifestyle. Diet & gym or any kind of exercise helps you.

Your reports are normal, HDL cholesterol has been raised to some extent.You can adjust the dose under guidance of your doctor as sleep may get disturbed and on this dose of Quetiapine, metabolic side effects are least, overall your inv are normal. With medication you follow sleep hygiene, relaxation exercises, daily activity schedule that will help you in sound sleep and overall well being, on reducing dose, if sleep does not get disturbed, you can continue on low dose with all above advice in your routine , keep records of weight also
