QUERY REGARDING USG OF NECK AND THYROID
I was advised for an USG Neck by my doctor because of having history of cervical tuberculous lymphadenitis as I suffered from TB in the year 1999 when I was 5-6 yrs of age. I told this to my doctor and he advised me for the same. The USG report shows that there is a small right submandibular lymph node measuring 9.9 × 6.6 mm. I consulted it with my doctor and he told me that this could be due to some past bacterial infection but also added that if my TB would have relapsed after years then there would be more than one lymph node of such type. I asked him whether this signifies any malignancy? To which he answered that such small lymph nodes less than 1 cm are hardly malignant and there's nothing as such. He also added that I must go for a repeat USG after 2 months to look whether its size increases or not. If it increases, then he advised me to go for an FNAC. I told him that I am having this lymph node from 2015. I had a CT of the neck in 2018 which didn't signify such. What you opine?
