Query regarding cervical stich
My wife is 17 weeks pregnant. In the last scan on 12/28, our doctor told cervical length is 3.10 cm and confirmed it is ok in general. But based on history 2 mis-carriages(in early stage before 3rd month), our doctor advised for cervical stich. Please advise if the cervical stich is really necessary?

The cervical incompetence abortion normally occurs after 3 months. Abortion before three months generally have a different reason than cervical incompetence. So from your history a stitch is not required.

First trimester abortions with normal cervical length do not warrant the stitch
