Yes. It is legal in India. Medical abortion can also fail. It can also have few complications. For that reason the MTP Act specifies that patient should abort under Medical supervision. That means MTP with Doctor's advice and doctor should suprtvise it so that he can interfere if there is a problem.

Medical Abortion is Legal You will have to undergo certain blood tests before medical Miscarriage,,(abortion) and take a few medicines under the supervision of a Doctor/nurse Medical Abortion can be done for early pregnancy upto 63 days,
