Quadrapule Marker Test
I am 17 weeks pregnant. My NT scan was normal with all fetal parametres and nasal bone and it was done 30th aug. I was only recommended NT scan by my doctor and nothing else. all blood tests are in range too. In the absence of my usual doctor, i was asked to visit a different doctor. So in today's checkup, heart beat was all okay for the baby. While doctor said everything looked good she said just get a quadruple marker test done. She said its just a WHO recommendation for all. I wasnt very convinced because she sounded as if it was just a generic recommendation and didnt seem like it was needed. She said its just to ensure genetic disorders are not there and because of lifestyle changes its recommended and also my previous miscarriage due to subchorionic hematoma was also a reason for quadruple marker test. I am 32 years old, my previous miscarriage as well as current pregnancy are natural conception. i wanted to understand if quadruple marker is necessary.
