Pus in umbilical cord

Hi my son is 7 days old and has little pus in umbilical cord..he looks like he is in pain and turns his face red upon changing diapers. Please find the attached pic.

Clean the area gently with betadine ointment using a sterile gauze if you can. Nothing to worry about. Cord is about to fall off. Should be ok. Pain is due to gases more likely. If he cries give colic drops like colicaid 5 drops as needed
