Psychoanalysis was developed after extensive work with dissociative identity disorder. So it lends itself well to it. However, psychoanalysis was developed in the early twentieth century and therapy has come a long way since. For dissociative disorder, psychotherapy (of any form) is highly recommended. More than the type of psychotherapy, what influences improvement is the relationship between therapist and client. Hence, I would suggest looking for a qualified therapist who is honest and resonates with the client. Psychoanalysis requires a large number of sessions and takes longer to complete treatment than other forms of therapy. If you are still keen to pursuing this form of therapy there is Psychoanalytic Therapy and Research Centre ( PTRC) in Bandra (East), Mumbai. You could get in touch with them and they would assign a therapist to you. If you or the person concered is open to other forms of therapy I would recommend getting in touch with Umeed Foundation in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Although primarily a child centre it could put you in touch with an associated psychotherapist. All the best.
