Though it's not a hereditary condition, there r increased chances of ur kids getting the condition. It is an autoimmune condition, and there r high chances of family association. Usually it requires life long care as they may have flare ups. Other systemic manifestations are also seen in. So it's better to get tested before planning for kids

It has less chances of familial inheritance, however the possibility of your further children being affected is not completely zero.
