I think it is easier and cheaper to go to the toilet twice than to get all the expensive and cumbersome investigations done which don't even come with any assurance that you will get a diagnosis.

Hi! From what you have described is completely normal and nothing pathological as far as your description, this can be solved with one simple trick, As soon as you wake up drink a glass of water or simply drink some lukewarm lemon water, this would initiate the bowel movement and would help you defecate properly.
Next Steps
Drink warm water on waking up Can drink chia seeds water or lemon honey water
Health Tips
You can try stretching in the morning as physical movement can also activate bowel moments early in the morning.

Why this might be happening 1. Colonic motility patterns In many people, the colon has increased activity in the morning after waking and after breakfast (called the gastrocolic reflex). Sometimes this happens in two waves, so you feel the urge twice. 2. Incomplete evacuation You may not be fully emptying your bowels the first time (due to mild constipation, low fiber, poor hydration, or muscle coordination issues), so the rest comes out later. 3. Diet-related High fiber foods, caffeine, spicy food, or certain artificial sweeteners can trigger multiple bowel movements in a short time. 4. Functional bowel disorders Conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can cause a pattern of multiple small-volume stools, even when all scans are normal. 5. Anxiety or stress-related gut response Stress in the morning (rushing for work, anticipatory anxiety) can trigger repeated bowel movements through the gut–brain axis. 6. Other possibilities Mild infections, post-infectious bowel sensitivity, or food intolerances (like lactose or gluten sensitivity).
Next Steps
What you can try 1) Lifestyle & diet adjustments (first line) 2) Hydration: Drink enough water but avoid chugging large amounts right after waking. 3) Diet review: Keep a 7-day food–symptom diary to identify triggers. 4) Fiber balance: If intake is too low, increase soluble fiber (oats, bananas, psyllium husk); if already high and stools are loose, reduce insoluble fiber for a while. 5) Caffeine timing: Try delaying tea/coffee until after your first bowel movement. 6) Meal timing: Avoid very heavy dinners and try having your last meal at least 2–3 hours before sleep. 7) Physical activity: A light walk after dinner can improve colonic clearance overnight. Medical check-up options Since your ultrasound was normal, the next step could be: 1) Stool tests (for parasites, occult blood, fat content) 2) Thyroid function test 3) Screening for lactose or gluten intolerance if suspected 4)Colonoscopy only if there are red flags (blood in stool, unexplained weight loss, severe pain, family history of colorectal cancer/IBD)
Health Tips
Seek a gastroenterologist’s opinion promptly if you notice: 1) Blood or mucus in stool 2) Unintentional weight loss 3) Night-time bowel movements waking you up 4) Persistent abdominal pain or bloating

From what you say, it seems completely normal. Two bowel habits per day is perfectly normal if the stool consistency is normal.
Next Steps
I would like to better understand what is actually going on and what is creating trouble for your day to day life. Is it persistent tenesmus or is it a persistent feeling of bloating?

Having bowel movements twice only in the morning is generally considered normal if it is not accompanied with any other symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhoea. There are many reasons which contributes to changes to altered bowel habits like, 1) Drinking lot of alcohol/ caffeine. 2) Having high sugar diet. 3) High fibre content in your food. 4) Stress 5) Food allergies 6) Some medications Try to figure out the trigger and change it, it might help. If none of this is applicable or if you have other symptoms do get in touch with a doctor in person.
