Pregnant with chronic hypertension
I just found out 3 days ago that I'm pregnant. I'm considered high risk for two reasons. 1. I'm 41 and will be 42 at birth. 2. I have hypertension and have been taking 10mg of amodipine besylate to treat it for a while. So when I found out, I stopped taking the amodipine. But yesterday, took my pressure and it was elevated. So I freaked out and took have a pill of the amodipine. Now I'm scared that taking this half does has killed my unborn fetus. There is NO blood and my period hasn't come. Hel

Amlodipine is safe in pregnancy for fetus point of view Ur age is a risk for chromosomal abnormalities in fetus but that can be tested at 11-14 weeks and pregnancy can be continued Thirdly ur hypertension may cause worsening of function of kidneys during pregnancy and that can be a risk to u I would suggest u to meet a geneticist gynecologist a physician and get tests done and clearance taken to go ahead vd pregnancy if u wish to
