Greetings Sir/Ma'am
My last period cycle was of 37 days due to previous intake of ipill.
This cycle, on Day 7, we had protected sex but condom broke mid act. We didn't continue thereafter and he didn't ejaculate either. I was worried of precum, so took an ipill after 4 hours.
Later, on Day 19 and Day 20, there was bleeding but it was not little. The sanitary pads soaked to some extent. I got confused if it's any kind of withdrawal bleeding or actual period.
With all these, could you please help me and let me know, if taken ipill, is it possible to predict the ovulation time , if so, then by how many days ovulation will be delayed?
Following day, we had protected sex.
Considering the previous delay and current intake of ipill, was I in my ovulation time !?
I am actually in a confused state of mind if I will get my periods or not?
Please help me with this.
Thank you
You need to keep in mind the fact that emergency pills are known to cause irregular vaginal bleeding delayed periods also they have a very high failure rate which means patient can be pregnant despite taking one
With irregular periods it is impossible to predict the date of ovalution
Wait till the next date of period if you miss them do a pregnancy test
Cycles after i pills not predictable so its difficult to calculate ovulation time
Initial cycles after i pill will irregular as a side effect
I pill has failure rate so still there is chance of pregnancy so if you miss your periods get pregnancy test done
Bleeding like this on day 19-20, heavy enough to soak through pads, is most likely withdrawal bleeding from the i-pill, which is a known effect. The i-pill also shifts your usual ovulation timing, delaying it or sometimes bringing it forward, so trying to calculate your exact fertile window this cycle isn't reliable.
Next Steps
A home urine pregnancy test is worth taking now, since heavy bleeding needs causes like miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy ruled out whenever pregnancy is a possibility, even though withdrawal bleeding is the likelier explanation here. If your next period doesn't arrive within one to two weeks, repeat the test.
Health Tips
Please see a gynaecologist if the bleeding gets heavier, you feel dizzy, or your next period runs more than three weeks late.
