Pregnancy Query
My friend has a period cycle of near to 40 days as her mother also had the same.. she had her last period on 17th of nov and had unprotected sex on 3rd of dec.. she also took an ipill within 2hours of the act... Today on 13of dec she took a urine pregnancy test on the test kit and tested negative... Is it too early for her to take the test? Can she still get pregnant... If not then when should the pregnancy test be taken for accurate results... Also, can normal blood tests determine pregnancy?

As your friend has a cycle of 40 days any test done before that would be wrongly timed and would be negative
so the timing of the test was wrong
yes she can be pregnant because emergency pills have a high failure rate
normal blood test will not determine pregnancy
the blood test to determine pregnancy is beta HCG
She should do a pregnancy test on 24th of December

Ipills makes her period irregular for one month.
If she missed her regular period and pregnancy test negative than no worries abt pregnancy.
But I think she should wait till 20th Dec.
And if period not comes than do urinary pregnancy test with morning sample on 21st Dec and send me report so I can help you.

Yes it is too early to test for pregnancy. Pregnancy test to be repeated or beta hcg to be done after day 40 of menstrual cycle
