Yes , you can eat dry fruits in the first trimester of pregnancy, even with hypothyroidism, but you need to choose them wisely and consume them in moderation
Safe dry fruits for first trimester and hypothyroidism
Almonds ( soaked overnight) 4-5
Walnuts 1-2 halves ( good for brain and omega )
Dates - 1 small
Raisins - 4-5 ( aids in constipation)
Fox nuts ( Makhana ) roasted a handful as snack
Flaxseed- 1 tsp / day
Avoid / limit :
Cashew: high in fat , eat rarely
Pistachio: may cause heat and gas , limit 2-3
Brazil nuts : high in selenium, don’t exceed 1/ day
Packaged or salted dry fruits: too much sodium
Important Tips for Pregnancy either hypothyroidism
Take your thyroid medicine on an empty stomach daily, 30-60 minutes before food
Avoid raw cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli often- steam or cook them
Get enough iodine, selenium and iron
Avoid soy products in excess- they interfere with thyroid medicine
Drink 8-10 glass of water daily
Exercise lightly ( walking , prenatal yoga) if approved by
