Hi. I personally think experience wise sometimes mri overexaggerates the diagnosis. See shatzker fracture will be diagnosed on Xray only. We don't get mri done for that. The fact that you have got mri done means there might not be any fracture on xray and the orthopaedic surgeon must be thinking of Ligament or meniscus injury. See please see what exactly you have. Bucket handle tear needs to be repaired if not then eventually it will cause a lot of problems. Later after few months we cannot repair it also and then we will have to remove it which will be really very sad. If we have to remove the meniscus then it will lead to very early onset of arthritis. I hope this helps you. Take care of yourself.

Schatzker 3 is pure central depression fracture. This requires surgery for elevation of depressed fragment., Along with raft screw/ plate fixation with or without grafting. Lateral meniscus can simultaneously undergo meniscectomy or repair depending on site and pattern.
Next Steps
My suggestion Arthroscopy assisted fracture fixation and meniscectomy or repair.
