Hi, I am having redness and itching under my foreskin. I tried consulting doctor for which they suggested Flucanozole and Candid Cream. It has been 2 months now but still there are no signs of improvement. There is a bad odour and buildup of smegma even after cleaning everyday with warm water now. Stopped using soap. Could this be a bacterial infection too and not just Fungal. Please help. The end of the penis head is swollen and red. There are also cuts developing under the foreskin which normally does not happen.
I am allergic to NSAID and Quinolone.

• Likely chronic balanoposthitis with mixed infection (fungal + secondary bacterial)
• Persistent symptoms despite antifungal + bad odour + fissures → suggests superadded bacterial infection / irritant dermatitis
Next steps
• Gentle cleaning with plain water only, dry completely (no soap/antiseptics)
• Get blood sugar levels checked (very important in recurrent cases)
• If not improving → swab test (culture) + dermatologist/urologist consult
Helpful tips / Words of caution
• Avoid steroid combination creams (worsens infection long-term)
• Avoid over-washing or harsh cleaning → increases irritation
• Keep area dry, retract foreskin gently and dry after washing
• Avoid sexual activity till healing
• ⚠️ If severe pain, inability to retract foreskin, or worsening swelling → urgent consultation needed
