Polycystic kidney disease pain
I was just diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. I have had side and lower back pain for 2 weeks that varies in intensity but can be quite painful. I have an appointment with nephrologist in a week, but I'm worried that the pain hasn't subsided and that something might be seriously wrong. Do I need to go to the emergency room?

You need a plain CT scan of KUB region to rule out obstruction of the ureter by stone or clots. Sometimes bleeding into the cyst also would cause Pain. CT would give an answer. If the pain is very intense, then needs to go to emergency. Avoid NSAID group of medication if your renal function is not good.
