I understand your concern , you need to get rid of the tooth , otherwise the inflamation wont go away , pulp polyp is a case necessitiates extripation of pulp and extraction of the same tooth to get rid of post infection siquele , otherwise it may leeds to absess , granuloma even osteomylitis . so please consider getting rid of the tooth . you can get it replaced once it heals properly after extraction . also consider the best treatment plan for your last tooth in the same quadrant in the picture . weather filling or root canal treatment according to clinical /radiographic condition.
I understand your fear and anxiety towards dental treatment. but its really not a complicated procedure your previous painful treatment can be due to subsiding infection while you were seeking treatment. so please consider having antibiotics prior to the extraction of the tooth . so that treatment will be smooth and painless.

You should get the complete tooth removal that is along with the root. Any tooth part remnant can cause further complications/ infections
Please follow the advice of your dentist
Pulp polyp is not that clear in this picture. But it’s better to remove that tooth remnants completely with the entire root. They may cause re-infection in future. You can’t replace the missing tooth without removing remaining tooth structure.
you don’t have to worry soo much about the procedure.
Next Steps
Consult a dental surgeon and extract the Tooth (remove)
