Avoids social contacts, friends n family.Doesn't go out,gets angry when family talks about him.Doesn't come on the phone to talk.He has always been a shy boy but completed his engineering n had limited friends but now he is totally cut off from his friends,refuses to meet them when they visit him at home.His parents tell him to go out but he doesn't budge.He worked for 6 months in vizag inspite of not being happy there n then suddenly left n came back to his parents place in Dharwad n ever since he has been behaving strangely.We r trying to motivate him but he is not responding.

Hello. Seems like a major disorder . Most probably depressive illness. Visit a psychiatrist.  At this stage he will benefit by medicines,not talking down or counselling.

For every behaviour there is a reason behind it. Try to understand the reason and help him to come out of that behaviour. OR otherwise, take him to Counsellor /Psychologist if not in ur town to go the city and consult there. It would definitely help him and lead a better life.
