My 5 year old son seems to be always having cold for the last 2 years. The disharge is very thick and yellowish. We have tried treatment fot asthma, milk allergy, swollen adenoids, antibiotics time and again. Every treatment helps initially but then the problem reappears and he seems to be unaffected by the treatment anymore.

If your child requires antibiotic treatment for more than 7 times in a year for these symptoms, it would be better to get his adenoids removed surgically.
