Hello Doctor,
I am 17 years old and have been experiencing irregular periods. My first period came when I was 15, but after that, there was a gap of 13 months before my second period. Since then, my periods have been very irregular and often very late. Whenever my periods come, I experience very severe cramps and pain. I do not have any issues with weight gain, hair fall, or unwanted hair growth. I have not been sexually active.
Could you please help me understand why my periods are irregular and why I am experiencing such severe cramps? What tests should I get done? What treatment options are available?
Thank you

Please get your sonography of the lower abdomen done to exclude any anatomical reason for your symptoms.
You should consult a Gynaecologist with the report.
It takes about 2 years for the hormones to normalize after the first period. Since, you also have painful periods you can get evaluated to know the cause.
