Period-like bleeding after taking the iPill (emergency contraceptive) can be a side effect of the pill, especially with hormonal changes it causes. The bleeding with mild pain isn’t usually a major concern but can indicate hormonal adjustment or irregular shedding of the uterine lining. You should advise her to: 1. Monitor the bleeding – if it’s heavy or lasts long, consult a doctor. 2. Take a pregnancy test after 3 weeks if periods are irregular or missed.
