Pericoronitis - Is Extraction needed?
I have pericoronitis. The doctor advised the extraction of the wisdom tooth but I prefer to delay the extraction for now. had some swelling in my gums near the wisdom tooth last week but I was prescribed antibiotics and they seem to work very well. Both the swelling and the discomfort have reduced. My question is whether I could delay the extraction of wisdom tooth by a month or not.

It is but natural that any patient can think about delaying a wisdom tooth extraction. The antibiotics just suppress the swelling without addressing the root cause, which is the the wisdom tooth. Moreover the food particles keep getting accumulated between the wisdom tooth and the adjacent one in every meal.
