Hi ,My doctor asked me to go for pentamarker test after NT scan. NT scan was done yesterday and was normal. Generally people go for double marker in addition to the NT scan. What is the difference between double marker and Pentamarker ? I am 12 weeks pregnant.

Pentamarker is a relatively new test (and it is the monopoly of one service provider).
The five components are
PAPP-A
Beta HCG
Alpha Foeto-protein (AFP)
Inhibin A
Pl GF.
It does the same thing as Quadruple marker test but a little early in pregnancy.
The cost of the test varies between ₹2000 to ₹4000. Compares favorably with other tests
Any abnormality in the level one scan
Any past history of malformations in the fetus?
If not u can go fr a double marker test
Pentamarker wud be more accurate but more expensive
