Hi, I have been prescribed penicillin antibiotics for my sinus infection. I am mild haemophilic. Is it safe to take that medication. Thanks in advance

Oh that is a complicated question. It depends on what type of hemophilia you have .. I assume it's hemophilia A as that is the most common type.. and penicillin 'allegry' has been found to aggravate hemophilia A in some cases ... There are definitely more simpler options for sinus infection than penicillin! .. is there a specific reason your doctor prescribed penicillin and not any of the newer drugs? If there is than you might want to discuss with him regarding this penicillin allergy ...

Patient's detailed medical history is required. It is recommended to consult a doctor professional through the Practo app or visit a local medical facility for a thorough evaluation. Please keep in mind that detailed medical history is crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment.
