Asked for Male, 34 Years

Hi Doctor, I have been diagnosed as panic disorder. I was prescribed paxidep 25 mg And lonazep 0.5 I have stopped paxidep after 2 months I have been taking lonazep 0.5 mg since 10 months. I m unable to stop lonazep. Does this increase weight n skin problem like skin pigmentation on forehead. Please help

Hi Panic disorder is a common issue to many individuals. I would recommend for most individuals to stop benzodiazepines(lorazepam) but maintain them on SSRI (paxolidep) as it is the first line of treatment. Lonazep may cause dependence which makes it difficult to stop it suddenly. Try reducing the dose to 0.25 mg and then using it on alternate days and then finally stopping it. It rarely causes skin problems.
