Painful rootcanal
Will filing the cap helps in reducing the pain after root canal. As my wife's 3 teeth root canal was carried out yesterday and doctor said that it will reduced after filing. Also it is very painful as she can't even able to chew rice. Please advise if it is normal

Pain after root canal differs from patient to patient. For some it is difficult to bite on the teeth for upto 2 weeks after root canal. It will subside. If it is too much please go back to your dentist he/she will give something to help.

Hello, Normally after root canal treatment pain may persist and it will subside in a week if it does not you have to consult again. And placing a cap is important to save the tooth.

Cap has to be done only after Root canal is completed. Normally there may be pain during RCT even upto 2 weeks of completion of treatment. If it persists after that then it should be investigated and may indicate infection
