The type of pain you are describing on the right side of the abdomen, especially when the ultrasound is normal, is most commonly due to intestinal causes rather than liver or gallbladder issues. When this pain is combined with: • Gastric discomfort • Bloating • Sticky or mucous-like stools …it strongly suggests that the intestines are irritated or inflamed — something we often see in gastritis, IBS-type bowel sensitivity, gut dysbiosis, or mild infections, even when routine scans appear normal. These conditions are very real, but they do not show up on ultrasound. They require a more detailed clinical evaluation of your diet, bowel pattern, stress levels, and digestive habits to identify the exact cause. The pain can become persistent if the underlying trigger isn’t addressed properly, but the good news is this is treatable, and patients usually feel relief fairly quickly once the right plan is started. Since your symptoms have been continuous and are affecting your day-to-day life, it would be ideal if I could review your reports in detail and assess your condition personally. That allows me to pinpoint the exact cause and create a treatment plan tailored specifically for you, including: • What tests are actually needed • Which medicines will help your type of abdominal pain • How to correct the gastric imbalance causing sticky stools • Dietary and routine adjustments that bring fast relief A short consultation will help us understand why this is happening and get you on the right track so the pain doesn’t keep coming back. Whenever you’re ready, I can guide you thoroughly and ensure you get a clear diagnosis and proper treatment.

More history and evaluation needs to be done , however for gastric issues, try to avoid spicy foods , coffee and chocolate, consume diet having complex carbohydrates and high in fibre and consume in frequent intervals in small quantities.

Have a stool test to check for infections, ova and cysts along with some blood tests (CBP, ESR, CRP, Liver Function Test and urea and creatinine) first. Ultrasound is not an ideal test for any symptoms from the bowel but pick up things to do with gallstones liver etc. Only If the symptoms don’t settle and your blood tests are abnormal, it would be advisable to have a colonoscopy. All the best. J G S R
