Pain near hip area
My wife is having pain in lower back(nr hip area) while sleeping and sitting since 4 days. While walking this pain doesn't occur. please advise.

She should be properly assessed, diagnosed and treated.

Go to a physiotherapist.. Ultrasonic therapy +IFT +Heating therapy +some strengthening exercises will be helpful for sure .

At home.. Rest +hot water fomentation +pain killer gel +no long sitting /standing /walking /travelling /driving /stair climbing +no cold exposure +no manual exertions +no forward bending.

Need detailed history and examination to come to a diagnosis and plan the line of treatment. Tho the type of complains you are presenting with are typical of a disc.

Try to break your sitting posture, you should be getting up atleast 6 times in 4 hours, i always suggest my patients to keep their water bottle away from them so they can get up in between, Also do a few back extensions.
