Pain in tooth
Having pain in last left molar tooth since more than a week. Attatching picture of the same. Slight gum swelling around the tooth.What could it be and ways to get rid of it.Also have had a root canal on the last molar around 5 years back.The pain is mild but looking for solutions. Just wanted to know if its anything serious or worrisome.

Hello sir... The pain may be due to cavity formation or pocket formation of the first and second molar teeth... You need to go for IOPA  of the involved teeth region....It may be due to secondary infection if the root canal tooth also... Treatment depends on the x-ray investigation only

The swelling is suggestive of infection. The most probable reason for this could be deep pockets n food accumulation. There could be a chance of crown problem or any other reason also. Get a checkup done. An x-ray might be taken to diagnose well. U might need scaling, or a re- rct
