Frequent cold infections, throat pain, watery eyes, and reactive lymph node swelling in a hypothyroid patient suggests reduced immunity — hypothyroidism can suppress immune function, making you more susceptible to infections. The lymph node below the jaw is likely reactive (responding to the repeated throat infections) rather than anything concerning. Getting your thyroid levels optimally controlled is key, as TSH in the higher range can worsen immune response.
Next Steps
Get a TSH check to ensure your thyroid is well-controlled on the current dose. Also check Vitamin D and Vitamin C levels — deficiencies are common in hypothyroid patients and further reduce immunity. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

Hello. Since you’re having recurrent throat pain and colds for almost a year with enlargement of a lymph node, this should be evaluated rather than treated repeatedly with medicines alone. It could be due to recurrent viral infections, allergic rhinitis with postnasal drip, chronic tonsillitis, or less commonly another underlying condition.
Next Steps
I recommend an ENT consultation for a throat examination. You may need tests such as CBC, ESR/CRP, thyroid profile (TSH), and an ultrasound of the enlarged lymph node
Health Tips
if it persists. In the meantime, stay well hydrated, do warm saline gargles, maintain hand hygiene, and continue your thyroid medication as prescribed. If the lymph node continues to enlarge, lasts more than 2–3 weeks, or is associated with fever, weight loss, or difficulty swallowing, seek prompt medical evaluation.
