My mother (housewife) says she has some pain in the knee area, this is the first time that she is facing this issue. Earlier she was active and healthy, was able to walk and do normal works. She started going for daily walks (without shoe) from then on she started feeling pain in the knee area. We have tried applying various ointments and knee pads, still the pain exists. Please suggest

Please take her to an Orthopaedic doctor for a physical examination and investigation
She may be developing age related changes in her knee joint which may be the cause for the pain
If such is the case external ointments and knee pads are of no use
