Get X-ray done to rule out calcaneal spur,  check your footwear which you are wearing regularly, wear and tear of footwear also causes pain in heel and foot. Weight gain also causes such pain.
Next Steps
do stretches of calf and plantar fascia,  icing 2-3 times a day to painful region,  toe curling exercises. contrast bath ( hot 5 min - cold 2 min-hot 5 min)
Health Tips
do not do exercises in your own if pain persists see a physiotherapist for the detailed evaluation and treatment to prevent further damage.

It may be plantar fasciitis. It may be more painful in morning when you get up from bed or after prolonged sitting position. More painful in first 5-6 steps. Once muscles get stretch, you will not feel pain.
Next Steps
Do ankle toe movements before getting up from bed or before changing prolonged position. Do toe curls with napkin.
Health Tips
Do contrast bath (cold water for 2 mins+ hot water for 3 mins) twice daily. If there is no recovery after 15 days, meet physiotherapist for wax bath therapy or ultrasound with exercise.
